I'd take a good pug using good builds whether or not their weapon is customized. It's the fact that it's hard to find people that know how to play melee well, that i tend avoid puging.

Bcos melee in PvE is not same as in PvP.
PvE = hold agro and don't let's them leak to back line.
PvP = caller, dmg dealer AKA Mr. Frenzy xD

Some kinda OT points:

- I'd much rather a non-inscribable 15^50 fellblade than an inscribable 15^50 fellblade because they are old school and that's what I like.
- Every single weapon I own is customised (+20% damage is HUGE) except if I plan on reselling them in the future or I need them on different characters (+5e tormented sword is one such item- I don't need the +20% damage because it's for a caster).
- I'd much rather a 90 damage Eviscerate than an 89.1 damage eviscerate (rough maths), i.e. 15^50 > 14^50, simply because I know I'm getting the absolute best out of my weapons.
- The people who don't customise their weapons are those who are planning to resell them or own something so rare that eliminating the possibility of selling it is simply too hard (the guy who customised the 15% unconditional dwarven obviously didn't have this problem ^^).

1) If the person isn't customising it and planning to use it they're bad or it's so rare they simply can't do it. 2) You can't mod whites. 3) A white, customised stormbow is nothing to show off. People like showing off their material possession

It's called PvE.
I never customize my weapons. That's why I always PvP with PvP-only characters.
PvE gives you the option of how bad you want to be.

I customize all my weapons, even caster wands and my monk's 55ing swords. I don't have any kind of intention to sell them, while they all are skins I like and I've either found them myself or got as a gift from friends. If I want weapon of same skin I already have for selling purposes, I'll go to farm another one and sell that. It doesn't matter to me is the weapon inscripable or old-school, max damage and max stats are same in both, and while I like shiny weapon skins, effectiveness is still more important (i.e. I take inscripable 15^50 anyday over 13^50 old-school purple).

Also customization of weapons makes them feel more like MINE, not just some random stuff I'm gonna sell to first person who gives me a decent offer. I wish that I could customize shields and off-hands as well .

Anyways, I customize my mesmer weapons because wanding is key.

Yes, I agree. However it isn't always the case (as you'll agree). Lol

I customize r12-r13 rare weapons for my warrior

but well occasionally, i became silly and customize my r8 weapons for him too ...

As for the topic, i am for customizing of martial weapons to maximize its efficiency, but then again, if people refuse to customize, I don't see anything wrong with it. Its their weapon, they paid huge amount for it, I don't see why anyone else has any rights to complain that it is or isn't customized.

Quit being such a sadpanda.

There's always a chance someone might eventually realize how pointless gold in GW is and reselling weapons they're just going to use forever is unlikely.

Happened to me few months back. Started customizing stuffs. Some time later, I started wondering what if i didn't customize this, what if i didn't cutomize that...

But then again, it doesn't really matter. Customizing is the way to 'force' me to keep a weapon

I customize all weapons I'm planning to use, be it martials or wands/staves.

I also put 15^50 inscriptions on wands/staves I use. Don't ignore wanding, especially on mesmers.

I have mixed feelings on this. I've lost some great weapons after re-rolling toons, and I also never notice any difference in difficulty fighting with or without customization, so I don't do it anymore... OTOH, I've starting using BMP weapons pretty much exclusively, so problem solved!

I always customize weapons for my dear warrior;

Once, I just bought a new axe for him, and started chopping around with it.
Then I noticed that the damage output was not the same as the old one, and I just emembered that I forgot to customize the new one. Went to GH and customized it The damage output is much higher with customizazion and I certain cases (aka dungeon, elite areas) even 1 more point of damage can make the difference. With my guild I always go damage dealer in elite areas and dungeons, I've not been tanking for a while now. The metagame is changing (and already changed imo), aggro belongs to the past.

Everyting gets customized from my monks volt spear to his torm wand.

also for pve tanks are bad take a extra damage dealer monk shouldnt fail so hard that they cant keep you up for 30 seconds while your 4 nukers sf shit and your 2 mms assrape.

tl;dr: your bad

I customize everything i plan on using, however if i pick up a rare skinned wep thats worth a lot i usually run around with it for a while just to see it.
So rare skins i dont keep i dont customize, even if i use them for a day or two.

All physical damage weapons on my characters and heroes get customized. I don't really care about resale value- if I wanted to sell something, I would just sell it and not hold onto it. When something I have isn't as useful to me anymore, it gets shoved onto a hero or salvaged.

My monk's Destroyer stuff is customized, but other than that I haven't been convinced that customizing my caster weapons would make any difference in PvE. If I played more PvP I'd customize caster weapons too.
